There was one gas station in cities across Middlesex County selling regular gas at the lowest price of $2.59 per gallon in the week ending Feb. 21, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
Regular gas prices averaged $2.85 per gallon in Middlesex County.
GasBuddy reports show that regular gas was available at 51 of the 73 reported gas stations in Middlesex County.
The average reported price for a gallon of regular gas in Connecticut was $2.86, unchanged from the previous week.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration expects global oil stockpiles to keep growing into 2026, a trend that could weigh on crude prices in the near term.
