Cost of education increases for all Albertus Magnus College students in 2022-23 school year

Tuition at Albertus Magnus College increased by 3.4% for the 2022-23 academic year, based on the institution’s most recent disclosure, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.

Students enrolled at the four-year private not-for-profit college paid $37,682 this year, which is $1,240 higher than the $36,442 charged during the 2021-22 school year.

Approximately 79% of the undergraduate student body are residents of Connecticut. Students from other states make up about 16%, while international students account for 5%.

Data indicates that 99% of full-time undergraduates who began their studies at Albertus Magnus College in 2022-23 received some form of student financial aid. In total, 160 students were awarded grants or scholarships amounting to $4.2 million, and 129 students borrowed more than $1.7 million in student loans.

Across the entire undergraduate population, 807 students utilized grants or scholarships totaling $16.4 million. Additionally, 746 students borrowed $7.2 million in federal student loans.

Undergraduate education costs have seen a significant increase over the past few decades. Data shows a 169% rise in the average total cost, including tuition, fees, room, and board, between 1980 and 2020.

Meanwhile, student loan debt has steadily increased over the last 30 years, reaching $1.75 trillion in 2024, averaging a total of $28,950 per borrower. Federal loans make up 92% of the debt, with over half of students at both public and private four-year colleges graduating with student loans.
