Tuition for in-state students at Southern Connecticut State University rose by 4.7% for the 2022-23 school year, based on the latest figures, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.

Connecticut residents paid $12,438 to attend the public four-year institution in 2022-23, an increase of $556 from the $11,882 charged during the 2021-22 academic year.

Non-resident students faced tuition costs 103.6% higher than those for residents in 2022-23, amounting to $25,326. This represented a slight increase of 0.2% from $25,286 in the previous year.

Approximately 92% of the undergraduate student body at the university are Connecticut residents, while about 7% come from other states.

Data indicates that 90% of full-time undergraduates who enrolled at Southern Connecticut State University in 2022-23 received some form of student financial aid. A total of 840 students were awarded grants or scholarships amounting to $7.4 million, and 730 students borrowed more than $4.9 million in student loans.

Across the entire undergraduate population, 4,258 students utilized grants or scholarships totaling $32.5 million. Additionally, 3,764 students took out federal student loans totaling $32.1 million.
