Rosa DeLauro, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 3rd district, has been vocal about pressing issues through her recent tweets. Addressing matters ranging from economic challenges to antisemitism, her messages call for immediate action and remembrance.
On April 23, 2025, DeLauro expressed concern about the rising cost of living, stating, “The cost of living is crushing working families—groceries, rent, childcare… even eggs cost a fortune. This Administration can’t just sit back. It’s time to act and bring relief to the middle class & vulnerable Americans.” Her commentary underscores a demand for governmental intervention to support financially stressed families.
Later the same day, DeLauro tweeted a cryptic statement that seemed to address a lack of accountability, asserting, “Maybe he’s born with it… maybe it’s a full face of deflection—either way, time for him to be fired.” This suggests her firm stance on accountability and performance in leadership roles.
On Yom HaShoah, April 24, 2025, DeLauro commemorated Holocaust victims and condemned antisemitism, stating, “On Yom HaShoah, we honor the memories of the six million innocent Jewish people murdered during the Holocaust. Today, we honor the innocent lives brutally taken and recommit ourselves to fighting back against hatred and antisemitism in all its forms.” Her message echoes a commitment to safeguard against intolerance and preserve historical consciousness.
Rosa DeLauro was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1943 and has been with the U.S. Congress since taking office in 1991, following Bruce Morrison. She is an alumnus of Marymount College, Tarrytown, graduating in 1964.
