Rosa DeLauro, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 3rd district since 1991, recently addressed several pressing issues through her social media posts. DeLauro, who has been active in politics for decades, expressed concerns and support on topics ranging from health safety to LGBTQ+ rights.
On June 2, 2025, Rosa DeLauro urged the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to release critical safety information concerning outbreaks. She emphasized that this information is essential as the “Trump Administration recklessly guts critical health programs,” potentially leaving families vulnerable. DeLauro stated that “the FDA must protect people, not companies” in her tweet.
Later that day, she extended her wishes for Pride Month with a message celebrating love and protesting against hate and injustice. As a member of the Equality Caucus, she affirmed her commitment to supporting the LGBTQ+ community and working towards an inclusive society for all Americans in another post.
In another post on June 2nd, DeLauro commented on leadership changes involving prominent billionaires in Silicon Valley. She warned about privacy concerns related to personal financial and medical data being accessible to these CEOs. Criticizing President Trump’s priorities, she claimed he is more focused on financial gains than addressing the cost of living challenges faced by citizens in a subsequent tweet.
Rosa DeLauro was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1943 and graduated from Marymount College in Tarrytown with a BA in 1964. She continues to reside in New Haven while serving as an influential voice in Congress.
