Quinnipiac men’s lacrosse goalie Evan Miner was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Defensive Player of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office on April 6.
Miner earned this recognition after making 13 saves in Quinnipiac’s recent victory over Sacred Heart, a team ranked No. 20 nationally. He recorded five saves in the fourth quarter, helping secure a 16-14 win for the Bobcats on the road.
So far this season, Miner has made a total of 80 saves across six games and has allowed just 63 goals over more than 325 minutes played. His performance has contributed to Quinnipiac improving its conference record to two wins and three losses following Saturday’s game.
Miner is the second player from Quinnipiac to receive a MAAC weekly award during this season. Junior Nate Watson previously received MAAC Offensive Player of the Week honors on February 9 after Quinnipiac’s season-opening win at UMass Lowell.
The Bobcats will return home for Senior Day against Mount St. Mary’s on Saturday, April 11 with a scheduled start time of 2:30 PM.
