Sophomore Talia Graham set a new Quinnipiac program record in the pole vault, clearing 3.80 meters at the Yale Season Opener. This mark surpassed her previous indoor record of 3.65 meters and her overall personal best of 3.75 meters.
Graham succeeded on her first five attempts, progressing from 3.20 meters up to her record height to secure the event win.
Quinnipiac athletes won five events at the meet. First-year competitors Kayleanne Campbell and Zoe Santos both reached 1.68 meters in the high jump, tying for first place. On the track, Nyasia Dailey won the 60-meter dash and Alessandra Zaffina finished first in the 3000-meter run. Kiera Baxter and Michelle Tota placed first and second respectively in the 200-meter dash.
The Bobcats also claimed victory in the 4×400 relay with Izzie Anzaldo, Sydney Lavelle, Baxter, and Tota as team members.
Several performances entered Quinnipiac’s top-10 all-time lists: Anzaldo’s time in the 60 meters ranks third; Meghan Stellhorn’s shot put throw of 11.02 meters is sixth; Campbell and Santos’ high jumps are tied for third; Baxter’s long jump mark of 5.53 meters places her seventh indoors.
