Noah Millard earned All-American honors in the 1650 freestyle for the second consecutive year, and the Yale men’s swimming and diving team’s 200 medley relay set a new school record on March 25 during the first day of competition at the NCAA Championships in Atlanta, Georgia.

The achievements highlight a strong start for Yale at the McAuley Aquatic Center. Millard placed 16th in the grueling distance event with a time of 14:47.47, earning him Honorable Mention All-American accolades.

In relay action, Jake Wang, Charlie Egeland, Nick Finch, and Deniel Nankov finished just outside All-American status by placing 17th in the 200 medley relay. Their performance set a new team record with a time of 1:23.16. The quartet missed out on an All-American spot by one place.

Yale also competed in the 800 freestyle relay where Wang, Mak Nurkic Kacapor, Nankov, and Millard completed their race in a time of 6:15.44.

The championships continue on Thursday, March 26 with preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m., followed by finals at 6 p.m.
