Natalie Spiska tied for first place in a three-way finish at the St. John’s Invitational, which concluded on April 7 at Saint Andrew’s Golf Course in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York. The Quinnipiac Bobcats women’s golf team placed third among twelve teams with a total score of 639 (+71).
The result marks Spiska’s first tournament title of the season and her collegiate career. She shot a 74 (+3) in the second round, climbing eight spots on the leaderboard to secure her share of the top position with a two-round total of 154 (+12).
Marisa Flores also improved during the final round, carding a 76 (+5) to finish fourth overall with a total score of 156 (+14). Sophia Fujita ended the event tied for ninth place after posting rounds that included an opening-day score of 77 (+6), her best of the tournament.
Tekla Fine-Lease finished one stroke ahead of Michelle Wong, recording scores of 162 (+20) and 163 (+21), respectively. Fine-Lease posted her best round on day two with a score of 79 (+8), while Wong’s strongest performance came in the second round as she shot an 80 (+9). Alexia Egdahl completed both rounds with identical scores of 88 (+17).
Five members from Quinnipiac finished within the top thirty on the overall leaderboards.
