The No. 3 Quinnipiac acrobatics and tumbling team will finish its regular season on Friday night with a meet against Morgan State in Baltimore, according to an April 2 announcement.

This match concludes a successful season for the Bobcats, who were recently ranked third nationally by the NCATA Championship Rankings. The team aims to maintain its strong performance as it heads into postseason competition.

Three athletes from Quinnipiac received NCATA Honorable Mention honors following their recent victory over LIU. Ashleigh Dugan was recognized as Athlete of the Week honorable mention, Emily St. Onge earned Specialist of the Week honorable mention, and Liberty Zamudio was named Freshman of the Week honorable mention for their contributions during the meet.

Earlier in March, Quinnipiac secured a win over Canisius with a score of 263.435 points. Highlights included earning 29.35 out of a possible 30 points in the pyramid event and 28.65 out of 30 in the toss event. Genesis Carson, Madysen Bradley, and Ally Murray contributed to an Acro 5 heat that scored a notable 9.80.

In another key matchup this season, Quinnipiac defeated No. 9 Gannon with a score of 266.710-247.995, highlighted by an open pyramid routine that achieved a near-perfect score of 9.95 out of ten.

At this year’s NCAA Convention in Washington, D.C., members voted to add acrobatics and tumbling as an official championship sport across all three divisions starting in spring 2027.

Head coach Mary Ann Powers is currently serving her twenty-ninth season at Quinnipiac Acrobatics & Tumbling in 2026. Powers has coached at various levels including Pop-Warner and All-Star squads before her long tenure at Quinnipiac University where she helped establish sustained national rankings since 2005 and co-founded the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) in 2009.

Over her career at Quinnipiac, Powers has led teams to consistent semifinal appearances at NCATA events—including two championship meets—and was named Coach of the Year by both NCATA (2016) and ECAC (2017-19). The Bobcats have been ranked third nationally for eight consecutive seasons under her leadership.
