Quinnipiac University women’s ice hockey assistant coach Brent Hill has been appointed to the coaching staff for the 2026 U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team, according to an announcement from USA Hockey.
Hill’s involvement with USA Hockey is longstanding. This year, he served as an assistant coach for the 2025 U.S. Women’s National Team, which secured a world championship title in Czechia after defeating Canada in overtime. He previously held the same position in 2024 and was part of the gold medal–winning 2023 U.S. Women’s National Team.
Hill has also contributed as a coach during the Rivalry Series against Canada since 2023. In recent matches last month, Team USA achieved victories over Canada with scores of 4-1 and 6-1 in the first two games of the series. The series will continue at Rogers Place in Edmonton with additional games scheduled.
Earlier in his career, Hill served as an assistant coach for the U.S. U18 Women’s National Team at the 2015 IIHF Women’s World Championship held in Buffalo, New York, where he managed defensive strategies and penalty kills. That team went on to win gold by defeating Canada.
At Quinnipiac University, Hill is currently in his sixth season working primarily with forwards and overseeing power play strategies for the Bobcats’ women’s ice hockey program.
The U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team is set to begin its competition at the Milan Games on February 5 against Czechia, followed by preliminary-round matches against Finland on February 7, Switzerland on February 9, and Canada on February 10.
