Quinnipiac women’s ice hockey assistant coach Brent Hill played a key role in leading the United States to a gold medal at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games. The U.S. team secured a 2-1 overtime win against Canada in the final, held at Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena on February 19, 2026.
Former Quinnipiac student-athlete Kati Tabin represented Canada and contributed to her team’s silver medal finish. Tabin is now recognized as the first Quinnipiac Athletics alum to earn a medal at the Winter Olympics.
Brent Hill has an extensive coaching history with USA Hockey. He returned this year as an assistant coach for the 2025 U.S. Women’s National Team, which won the world championship in Czechia after defeating Canada in overtime. Hill previously served in similar roles for both the 2024 and gold medal–winning 2023 U.S. Women’s National Teams.
Hill has also been involved with Team USA in the Rivalry Series since 2023, where recent games saw decisive victories over Canada. The series continues with additional matches scheduled at Rogers Place in Edmonton.
Earlier in his career, Hill was an assistant coach for the U.S. U18 Women’s National Team during their championship run at the 2015 IIHF Women’s World Championship in Buffalo, New York.
At Quinnipiac, now in his sixth year, Hill works primarily with forwards and leads power play strategies for the Bobcats’ program.
Kati Tabin played four seasons with Quinnipiac from 2016 to 2020, earning All-ECAC Third Team honors as a senior and serving as co-captain during her final season. She accumulated a total of 52 points across her collegiate career and currently plays professionally for Montreal Victoire of the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL).
