The Quinnipiac men’s tennis team will travel to Merrimack for a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) matchup on April 8, with matches scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.

This meeting marks the fifth time Quinnipiac and Merrimack have faced each other, with Quinnipiac holding a 4-0 record in the series. The upcoming match is significant as both teams continue their conference play. Merrimack enters the contest with a 1-6 MAAC record, having secured its only win against Niagara by a score of 6-1. In their recent match against Marist, Bjorn Hedegaard-Friis won at No. 5 singles after three sets.

Quinnipiac comes into this game after dropping its second conference match of the season to Marist by a score of 5-2. Despite the loss, Elias Hoxha and Finn Burridge earned their sixth doubles win of the season, while Csanad Nyaradi and Vishal Prakash picked up their fourth doubles victory. Alessandro Sciacca recorded his fifth singles win this year.

At the ITA Regional Championships, two Bobcat doubles teams—Carlos Braun Simo/Elias Hoxha and Finn Burridge/Alessandro Sciacca—advanced to the round of 64 after winning their respective matches. Carlos Braun Simo also won his main draw singles consolation match against Ethan Chung from Yale.

Last season, Quinnipiac captured its second consecutive MAAC title by defeating Rider in the championship round and advanced to its second straight NCAA Tournament appearance before falling to No. 23 Clemson. Elias Hoxha was named Most Outstanding Performer for clinching the championship victory over Rider and maintained an undefeated record against MAAC opponents last year.

The Bobcats return All-MAAC selections Elias Hoxha, Carlos Braun Simo, and Finn Burridge as they look ahead to continued competition this season.
