The Quinnipiac women’s golf team will participate in the Fairfield Tri-Match against the Fairfield Stags and Siena Saints on April 13. The event is scheduled to take place at the H. Smith Richardson Golf Course in Fairfield, Connecticut, with tee times set between 11:06 a.m. and 11:51 a.m.

This tri-match offers an opportunity for Quinnipiac to compete locally as part of its spring schedule. Six golfers from Quinnipiac—Sophia Fujita, Tekla Fine-Lease, Michelle Wong, Alexia Egdahl, Mason Egdahl, and Amy Goddard—are slated to represent the team.

In their most recent outing at the Rutgers Invitational held in Piscataway, New Jersey on April 11-12, Quinnipiac finished seventh out of sixteen teams with a total score of 942 (+90). Marisa Flores and Vaidehi Shah led the Bobcats by tying for fifteenth place individually with scores of 232 (+19).

During the fall season, Quinnipiac competed in five tournaments including a first-place finish at the Lehigh Invitational where Sophia Fujita secured an individual victory by shooting a team-best score of 204 (-9). The Bobcats also hosted and won the Quinnipiac Classic after recording a two-round total of 608.

Last year at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship, Quinnipiac claimed first place among eight teams with a three-round total of 883 (+19), finishing thirteen strokes ahead of UAlbany. Freshman Sophia Fujita was crowned individual champion after carding a three-day total of 217 (+1), which included setting a new MAAC Tournament single-round record with her opening round score of 68 (-4).

Looking ahead this spring season, Quinnipiac plans to compete in five tournaments before heading to Lake Buena Vista, Florida for the MAAC Championships.
