The Quinnipiac women’s golf team will participate in the Rutgers Invitational on April 11 and 12, their final tournament before the upcoming Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships. The event will take place at the Rutgers University Golf Course in Piscataway, New Jersey.

This tournament serves as a key preparation for Quinnipiac as they approach the MAAC Championships. Sixteen teams are set to compete, including Albany, Boston University, Bucknell, Dartmouth, Fairleigh Dickinson, Georgetown, Iona, Lehigh, Monmouth, Quinnipiac, Rutgers, Sacred Heart, Seton Hall, St. Francis, St. John’s and UPenn.

Quinnipiac’s lineup features Marisa Flores, Samantha Galantini, Vaidehi Shah, Natalie Spiska and Sandhya Vaikuntam. The competition begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 AM on both Saturday and Sunday. Live statistics for team and player leaderboards are available online.

In their most recent outing at the St. John’s Invitational in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York last week—where they finished third out of twelve schools—the Bobcats posted a total score of 639 (+71). Natalie Spiska tied for first place individually after shooting a combined score of 154 (+12) over two rounds.

Earlier this season during fall play Quinnipiac competed in five tournaments—including an eighth-place finish at the Nittany Lion Invitational and a first-place showing at Lehigh where Sophia Fujita won individual honors with a score of 204 (-9). The team also secured victories at their own Quinnipiac Classic before finishing seventh at the Lady Blue Hen Invitational.

Looking back to last year’s MAAC Championship run in spring 2025—the Bobcats captured first place among eight teams with a three-round total of 883 (+19), led by freshman Sophia Fujita who was also crowned individual champion after setting a new single-round record with her opening round performance.
