The Quinnipiac women’s tennis team earned its first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) win of the season with a 6-1 victory against Sacred Heart on March 20, improving to a perfect 5-0 record at home.

This win is significant as it extends the Bobcats’ MAAC winning streak to nine matches, dating back to the previous season. The team’s strong performance in both singles and doubles matches contributed to their continued success in conference play.

In doubles action, the pairs of Willow Renton and Caitlin Flower, along with Vera Sekerina and Caroline Schulson, secured victories that clinched the doubles point for Quinnipiac. In singles competition, Renton, Sekerina, Schulson, Isabella Baker, and Anagha Shankar all recorded wins. Notably, Baker achieved her first MAAC singles victory. Four of these singles wins—by Baker, Shankar, Schulson, and Sekerina—were completed in straight sets.

Renton and Flower notched their seventh doubles win of the season together. Individually, Renton, Baker, Shankar, and Schulson each celebrated their sixth singles victories this year. Sekerina added her fifth singles win to her record.

The Bobcats will look to maintain their momentum as they continue through the remainder of their conference schedule.
