Rosa DeLauro, a long-serving member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 3rd district since 1991, has been vocal on various issues through her social media platform. Her recent posts highlight significant national and international concerns as well as personal acknowledgments.
On May 22, 2025, DeLauro addressed the importance of investments in critical infrastructure, stating “This is not complicated: Congress passed, and the President signed into law, investments in critical infrastructure, including National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure, which goes to every State in the country.” She further criticized former President Trump by asserting that “The American people didn’t elect President Trump to steal from them.”
Later that day, DeLauro expressed her distress over an international incident involving violence against Israeli embassy staffers. She tweeted “I am horrified by the deadly and targeted killing of two Israeli embassy staffers.” and emphasized that “Antisemitism has no place in our society.”
On May 23, 2025, DeLauro attended an event hosted by GDS Foundation and Crnic Institute. She shared her gratitude for being part of the #AcceptAbilityGala via Twitter: “Thank you @GDSFoundation & @CrnicInstitute for hosting an unforgettable night at the #AcceptAbilityGala.” During this event, she presented the GLOBAL Advancement Award to Leo Weeks and described his determination as inspirational.
Rosa DeLauro was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1943 and graduated from Marymount College with a BA in 1964. She continues to reside in New Haven.
