Rosa DeLauro, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 3rd district since 1991, has been vocal on several key issues through her recent social media posts. DeLauro, who was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1943 and holds a BA from Marymount College, Tarrytown, shared her perspectives on topics ranging from local workforce programs to national legislative priorities.

On March 10, 2025, DeLauro addressed the importance of safeguarding initiatives like Common Ground. She stated: “Today, I discussed the importance of safeguarding places like Common Ground. I will fight back against the Trump administration illegally stealing funds that help support Common Grounds work, like the Green Jobs Corps youth workforce program.”

The following day, March 11, 2025, she emphasized the need for bipartisan cooperation in Congress to prevent a government shutdown. In her words: “Congress should work together in a bipartisan way to prevent a shutdown. We must pass a short-term patch and finish working on bipartisan funding bills. We cannot empower President Trump and Elon Musk to hand pick winners and losers with taxpayer funds.”

Later that same day, DeLauro expressed approval over a court decision involving labor board appointments: “I’m glad the courts have ordered the Trump administration to reinstate NLRB member Gwynne Wilcox. I was proud to lead a letter with @Labor_Caucus and 265 members of Congress underscoring the importance of NLRB integrity. This decision strengthens labor protections.”
