Rosa DeLauro, U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 3rd district since 1991, posted a series of statements on her social media account on September 3, 2025, addressing issues ranging from consumer protection to education and government transparency.
In a post at 15:01 UTC, DeLauro criticized Republican policies regarding economic oversight and taxation. She wrote, “Consumer protection?CUT. Safeguards for the stock market?CUT. Going after wealthy tax cheats?CUT. Republicans are building a lawless playground for billionaires & big corporations, where the top 1% do what they want. Watch @AppropsDems fight back:https://t.co/TDwo3R4e8R”.
Later that day at 17:01 UTC, DeLauro acknowledged educators in Connecticut by stating, “Thank you to the 43 TFA teachers entering classrooms this school year and for 20 years of #teachforamerica’s service in Connecticut! I commend your hard work & commitment to your students’ education.”
At 18:39 UTC, she addressed calls for greater transparency related to the Jeffrey Epstein case. DeLauro posted, “Today, I signed @RepRoKhanna & @RepThomasMassie’s petition to release all DOJ and FBI files on Jeffrey Epstein. Survivors deserve justice. We must protect women & children— not pedophiles.”
DeLauro has been active in public service since replacing Bruce Morrison in Congress in 1991 and is known for her long-standing representation of New Haven and surrounding areas in Connecticut.
She was born in New Haven in 1943 and graduated from Marymount College, Tarrytown with a BA in 1964.
