Rosa DeLauro, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 3rd district, recently shared her views on various policy issues through a series of tweets. Known for her advocacy on social security and education, DeLauro addressed concerns over government errors affecting citizens’ benefits and criticized current legislative measures.

On March 11, 2025, DeLauro highlighted the issue of government overpayments in Social Security benefits. She stated that if the government makes an error resulting in overpayment, it can freeze individuals’ benefits. Emphasizing the importance of these benefits to Americans, she remarked “I led the charge to fix overpayment errors without complete clawbacks. Americans rely on these benefits—they shouldn’t be punished for government errors.”

Later that day, she expressed her gratitude towards Dana Bash from CNN for discussing a Continuing Resolution (CR) ahead of a crucial vote. In her tweet posted at 20:10 UTC, DeLauro criticized the bill for cutting funding to essential programs and failing to reduce costs. She described it as “not ‘clean’—it’s a blank check for Elon Musk and a power grab for the White House.”

In another tweet from March 11th at 22:55 UTC, DeLauro reflected on her upbringing and emphasized the significance of education as foundational to achieving the American dream. Addressing Republican colleagues directly, she challenged them by stating “if you want to eliminate the Department of Education, then put your name on a bill to do that.”
