Rosa DeLauro, U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 3rd district since 1991, posted a series of messages on March 30, 2026, addressing topics ranging from college basketball to national and international issues.
Early in the day, DeLauro commented on the University of Connecticut men’s basketball team advancing in the NCAA tournament. On March 30 she wrote, “.@UConnMBB is headed to the Final Four — AGAIN. These Huskies keep finding a way. Let’s go!”
Later that day, DeLauro addressed federal spending priorities and healthcare policy. In a tweet posted at 15:23 UTC, she stated, “Republicans are spending billions on a war with Iran and now they want to cut your family’s healthcare to pay for it.”
In the evening, DeLauro focused on religious observances during Holy Week. At 18:43 UTC she posted, “Holy Week is the most sacred week in the Catholic faith. During difficult times, people turn to their faith & attend services as a source of hope. Closing the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to worshippers is unacceptable.
I’ll be monitoring this closely as Holy Week continues.”
DeLauro has represented Connecticut’s 3rd District since replacing Bruce Morrison in 1991 and currently resides in New Haven, where she was born in 1943. She graduated from Marymount College in Tarrytown with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1964.
