Rosa DeLauro, U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 3rd district since 1991, addressed several issues on her social media account on December 15, 2025. DeLauro highlighted a water main break in Waterbury, critiqued tax policies favoring corporations and billionaires, and expressed concern over potential cuts to Veterans Affairs jobs.
In her first post at 19:06 UTC, DeLauro informed constituents about a local infrastructure issue: “A water main break in Waterbury over the weekend has left many people without water. The city is arranging to deliver water to people. Please call 311 for more information.”
Later that evening at 20:09 UTC, she commented on federal tax policy, stating: “The GOP gave away $4.5 trillion in tax cuts to corporations and billionaires, no questions asked–but when hardworking Americans can’t afford health insurance, suddenly they’re very concerned about how it’s paid for.”
At 21:48 UTC the same day, DeLauro discussed healthcare access for veterans: “Health care access for our nation’s heroes should never be in doubt. Cutting VA jobs and refusing to fill open positions will mean overworked employees, longer wait times, and worse care. This is a betrayal of the promises we made to our nation’s veterans.”
DeLauro was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1943 and continues to reside there. She graduated from Marymount College, Tarrytown with a BA in 1964.
