Rosa DeLauro, U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 3rd district since 1991, posted a series of statements on April 13, 2026, addressing local infrastructure funding, national politics, and public priorities.
In her first post of the day, DeLauro announced new federal support for shoreline protection in Milford. She wrote: “I was proud to join local leaders in Woodmont to announce $750k in federal funding I secured for infrastructure to protect the Milford shoreline from erosion & nearby property from flooding. Thanks to the Burgesses & Mayor for your efforts to move this project forward.” (April 13, 2026).
Later that afternoon, DeLauro commented on national leadership and religious advocacy for peace. She stated: “Once again, the President is a disgrace to our country. As a Catholic, I stand with Pope Leo, who is an advocate for peace, not a politician. At a time when the world desperately needs it, he is a steady, committed voice for peace.” (April 13, 2026).
DeLauro also addressed economic concerns and political discourse in another post: “Americans care more about paying their bills than made up Republican culture wars that distract from affordability and ensuring billionaires and corporations pay their taxes.” (April 13, 2026).
DeLauro has represented Connecticut’s 3rd District in Congress since replacing Bruce Morrison in 1991. Born in New Haven in 1943 and currently residing there at age 80, she graduated from Marymount College in Tarrytown with a BA in 1964.
