Rosa DeLauro, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 3rd District since 1991, has recently addressed several significant issues through her Twitter account. DeLauro, who resides in New Haven and holds a degree from Marymount College, Tarrytown, shared her views concerning tax policies, immigration, and gun violence.

On April 10, 2025, DeLauro criticized President Trump’s tariff policy, stating that the tariffs “only help his billionaire cronies and giant corporations.” She argued for government support focused on the working class and vulnerable individuals, as opposed to benefitting billionaires.

DeLauro’s stance on immigration was highlighted in her tweet on April 11, 2025. Referring to the situation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, she called for his immediate return to the U.S., underscoring the nation’s foundation on laws and the necessity for due process, urging President Trump to adhere to the rule of law.

Also on April 11, DeLauro commemorated the somber anniversary of the Louisville Bank Shooting that resulted in the deaths of five Americans two years prior. She reaffirmed her commitment to advocating for common-sense legislation aimed at addressing the gun violence epidemic to ensure community safety.

Rosa DeLauro, born in 1943 in New Haven, Connecticut, has served in Congress since taking over from Bruce Morrison. Her long-standing tenure reflects her continued dedication to addressing pressing national issues through legislative action.
