Rosa DeLauro, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 3rd district since 1991, posted a series of tweets in early November 2025 addressing topics ranging from U.S. foreign aid to tributes for political colleagues and criticism of energy policy.
On November 5, 2025, DeLauro commented on government spending priorities with the statement: “Free busses?!?! NO!
*signs $40 billion check for Argentina*”
The following day, she shared her thoughts on Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s legacy, writing: “Speaker Nancy Pelosi is a legend– a titan of American politics. But to me, she is a dear friend, confidante, & ally.
She leaves a legacy that has transformed millions of lives & redefined what leadership looks like in America – I’m so grateful to call her a friend.” This message reflects DeLauro’s close relationship with Pelosi and her appreciation for Pelosi’s impact on American politics.
Later on November 6, DeLauro addressed rising utility costs in Connecticut and criticized former President Trump’s stance on energy projects: “CT families could pay nearly $140 more in electric bills next year. What is President Trump’s response?
Fighting against energy projects like Revolution Wind that would lower your costs, while building a golden ballroom for himself.”
DeLauro has represented Connecticut’s 3rd District since replacing Bruce Morrison in 1991. She was born in New Haven in 1943 and continues to reside there. Her academic background includes graduating from Marymount College, Tarrytown with a BA in 1964.
