Rosa DeLauro, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Connecticut’s 3rd district since 1991, recently shared her views on various pressing issues through social media posts. The tweets address public health concerns, corporate practices in response to tariffs, and a general warning against misleading tactics.
On May 15, 2025, DeLauro criticized recent actions by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She stated, “Reinstating one person by firing another is not a solution – it is foolishness disguised as compromise.” She emphasized that all workers are essential in safeguarding public health against dangerous diseases and expressed concern about what she perceives as the CDC’s ineffective personnel management strategy.
Later that day, DeLauro urged the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to monitor corporate responses to tariffs. In her post at 18:37 UTC, she warned about potential price-gouging practices by large corporations if unchecked by the Trump Administration. She asserted, “They have price-gouged Americans before and they will again.”
On May 16, DeLauro issued a cautionary message without specific details but suggesting awareness of deceptive practices. At 13:18 UTC she wrote, “They know what they’re doing. Don’t let them fool you.”
DeLauro has been an influential political figure since succeeding Bruce Morrison in Congress in 1991. Born in New Haven in 1943 and a graduate of Marymount College with a BA obtained in 1964, she continues to reside in her birthplace while serving her constituents.
