Rosa DeLauro, U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 3rd district since 1991, has used her social media platform to criticize Republican policies and advocate for increased consumer protections and environmental safeguards.

On July 21, 2025, DeLauro posted: “Republicans are building a lawless playground for billionaires and big corporations.

Consumer protection?
Safeguards for the stock market?
Tax enforcement?

The wealthy few do whatever they want and the rest of us fend for ourselves.”

The following day, she addressed food safety concerns in a post on July 22, 2025: “For too long the @US_FDA has allowed corporations to put synthetic & possibly carcinogenic additives in our foods.

‘Generally Recognized as Safe’ is broken. As a leader on this issue, I’m ready to work with Republicans to fix this loophole – are they?

The GRAS can be greener.”

Later that day, DeLauro focused on environmental issues and public access to cultural resources: “Our children deserve the same access to parks, museums, and clean air & water that past generations secured for us.

We’re on the verge of LOSING America’s natural wonders to yet another round of Republican cuts.
