Rosa DeLauro, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 3rd district since 1991, posted a series of statements on October 9, 2025, addressing recent political and legal developments involving former President Donald Trump and the Department of Justice.
In her first post at 21:04 UTC, DeLauro wrote, “Letitia James is a tough, fair prosecutor who worked hard to hold Donald Trump accountable for defrauding New Yorkers through his fake “charity.” Now he’s inventing charges to get political revenge. His weaponization of the DOJ undermines the rule of law and our justice system.”
Ten minutes later, she shared a biblical reference at 21:14 UTC: “Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight.”
At 21:44 UTC on the same day, DeLauro commented on economic disparities in tax policy and health care costs: “Their donors wanted their tax breaks so they got them! Meanwhile, Americans whose health care premiums are set to jump 500% are told to wait. Guess it helps to have billions to lobby Trump and Congressional Republicans! Good luck to everyone else, hope you survive.”
DeLauro has represented Connecticut’s 3rd District in Congress since replacing Bruce Morrison in 1991. She was born in New Haven in 1943 and continues to reside there. DeLauro earned her BA from Marymount College in Tarrytown in 1964.
