Rosa DeLauro, U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 3rd district since 1991, posted a series of statements on her official X account addressing former President Donald Trump, Republican policy priorities, and the conduct of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
On November 3, 2025, DeLauro wrote: “I believe Trump knows nothing. Still a bribe.”
Later that day, she criticized Republican economic policies in another post: “President Trump and Republicans do not have a plan to lower the skyrocketing cost of living.
They did have a plan to give tax cuts for billionaires. They did have a plan to gut Medicaid, the ACA, and SNAP.
For billionaires: anything. For you? Nothing.”
On November 4, 2025, DeLauro addressed concerns about ICE enforcement actions: “ICE is out of control, and people are getting hurt.
ICE is not targeting dangerous criminals, like President Trump promised. They are terrorizing our communities and arresting law-abiding people.
My message is clear: Take off the masks. Follow the law.”
DeLauro has represented Connecticut’s 3rd congressional district since replacing Bruce Morrison in 1991. She was born in New Haven in 1943 and continues to reside there at age 80. DeLauro graduated from Marymount College in Tarrytown with a BA in 1964.
