Rosa DeLauro, a longstanding representative in the U.S. Congress for Connecticut’s 3rd district, shared her thoughts on social media through a series of posts. DeLauro, who succeeded Bruce Morrison in 1991 and has been serving ever since, also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marymount College. Her recent posts address concerns over political responsibility, public health, and military conduct.
On April 1, 2025, DeLauro expressed a critical view of the current political atmosphere by stating “There are no adults in the room. Well, there was one. But he was invited by accident.” Her commentary suggests a lack of leadership and accountability within the current administration.
Later that same day, DeLauro voiced her disapproval of actions taken by President Trump and RFK Jr., who she claims have jeopardized the public health system. “President Trump and RFK Jr.’s irresponsible assault on the health system will lead to the deaths of Americans. They fired experts researching cancer cures, substance use treatments, and infectious diseases. Why? Billionaires want more money.” DeLauro’s remarks highlight her concern over the consequences of these decisions on American lives.
On April 2, 2025, DeLauro commented on what she perceives as preferential treatment within the military and political figures supported by President Trump. She stated, “Any servicemember who participated in a chat like this would be court-martialed faster than they could blink. But Trump will stand behind Pete Hegseth and Mike Waltz, because he values loyalty over competence.” Her post implies a critical stance on the administration’s prioritization of loyalty over competence in leadership roles.
