Rosa DeLauro, a longstanding U.S. Congress representative for Connecticut’s 3rd district, has been vocal about recent changes to Social Security and related policies. . She remarked, “These are not isolated moves; they are part of a direct and deliberate attack on Social Security.”Continuing her engagement on the following day, April 16, 2025, she emphasized

the reliance of over 708,000 people in Connecticut and 143,000 in her district, CT-03, on Social Security

. DeLauro highlighted her collaborative efforts with Rep. John Larson to oppose the dismantling of Social Security, stating, “We have a duty to protect our constituents and their benefits.”On the same day, DeLauro also highlighted the positive impacts

the expanded Child Tax Credit has had on children’s health, education, and long-term success

. She committed to restoring the credit in order to alleviate the financial burdens of everyday expenses such as gas, groceries, and rent. DeLauro stated, “The evidence is clear. I’m committed to restoring it and easing the burden of everyday costs.”

Rosa DeLauro is currently serving in the U.S. Congress, representing Connecticut’s 3rd district. She replaced previous U.S Congress member Bruce Morrison in 1991.
