As January 2026 comes to a close, Rosa DeLauro, U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 3rd district since 1991, has reflected on her recent accomplishments and reiterated her political positions in a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter).

On January 27, DeLauro highlighted federal funding secured for her district during the previous year: “As the first month of 2026 closes, I’m proud to look back on what I delivered for CT-03 in 2025: $7.9 billion in federal grants supporting lifesaving medical research & education, expanding mental health care, and more. This year, I’ll keep fighting to deliver more!”

Later that day, she addressed concerns regarding Kristi Noem’s role at the Department of Homeland Security. In a direct call for accountability posted on January 27, DeLauro stated: “I have called for Kristi Noem to be removed as head of the Department of Homeland Security for months. She must immediately resign or be fired, & if she is not removed, I will support moving forward with impeachment proceedings in the House of Representatives.”

On January 28, DeLauro shared additional content via two links but did not include further commentary: “https://t.co/DjtxFAv7ES https://t.co/pssALWPUUi”.

DeLauro has represented Connecticut’s 3rd Congressional District since succeeding Bruce Morrison in 1991 and continues to reside in New Haven where she was born in 1943. Her longstanding tenure is marked by advocacy for medical research funding and expanded healthcare access. DeLauro earned her BA from Marymount College in Tarrytown in 1964.
