Rosa DeLauro, U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 3rd district since 1991, used her social media platforms this week to highlight concerns about healthcare access and energy program funding in Connecticut.
On July 16, DeLauro posted a message inviting the public to participate in a live discussion on threats to healthcare. She wrote, ” Healthcare is under attack. I’m going LIVE on X, FB, and YT today to discuss the growing threats to healthcare access and affordability—and what we must do to fight back. Tune in today and join the conversation! We need your voice.” The same day, she followed up with another post promoting the event: “DeLauro Live To Discuss Threats to Healthcare https://t.co/d68gLVRqzj”.
The next day, DeLauro addressed proposed cuts to state energy programs by Republican lawmakers. On July 17 she stated, “Republicans are slashing nearly half the funding for cost-saving Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy programs across Connecticut. As a result? Higher utility bills, fewer jobs, and suffering families. Who wins? Billionaires and big polluters. Who loses? Everyone else.”
DeLauro has been an advocate for both healthcare access and environmental initiatives throughout her tenure in Congress. Born in New Haven in 1943, she continues to reside there while serving her constituents ([source](#)).
