Rosa DeLauro, U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 3rd district since 1991, has recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing issues ranging from gun violence legislation to food safety and government transparency.
On September 15, 2025, DeLauro called for bipartisan action in Congress to address gun violence. She wrote, “Congress should be united in finding ways to save lives & end gun violence. I urge my Republican colleagues to put the lives of our children above partisan politics. Listen to the thousands of families affected like @kristinsong3’s & pass legislation like Ethan’s Law.”
Later that day, DeLauro addressed concerns about food safety following a Listeria outbreak linked to Boar’s Head. She stated, “The Food Safety Caucus has some serious questions for Boar’s Head as they reopen their facility at the center of a deadly Listeria outbreak last year. They must come before us to answer them. Americans deserve answers. We will get to the bottom of this.”
On September 16, DeLauro commented on legal findings regarding Russ Vought, Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget (WHOMB). She posted, “The courts have decided: @WHOMB Director Russ Vought broke the law. Americans deserve to know how their tax dollars are spent, but time & again, Russ Vought hides the truth.”
DeLauro was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1943 and continues to reside there at age 80. She graduated from Marymount College in Tarrytown with a BA in 1964.
