Rosa DeLauro, U.S. Congresswoman representing Connecticut’s 3rd district since 1991, recently addressed environmental and agricultural issues in a series of posts on her social media account.
On December 9, 2025, DeLauro called for legislative action regarding mink farming, stating: “Factory farming of mink is outdated & dangerous. With virtually no domestic market, the mink industry has been in steady decline for years. I am urging all of my colleagues to support this bipartisan legislation.”
The following day, December 10, 2025, she highlighted positive developments in environmental restoration efforts: “Efforts in restoring East Coast’s 2nd largest estuary are paying off! Hypoxia levels found in the Long Island Sound have reached some of the lowest levels found in the last 40 yrs, allowing for growth of marine life and shoreline communities that depend on the Sound.” Later that same day, DeLauro posted two additional links without further commentary: “https://t.co/mLgUaFS47E https://t.co/5BlnICDMF1”.
DeLauro was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1943 and continues to reside there. She earned her BA from Marymount College, Tarrytown in 1964. Since succeeding Bruce Morrison in Congress over three decades ago, she has remained an active figure on issues impacting both her district and national policy.
