Sacred Heart men’s golf in 11th place after two rounds at Shark Invitational

The Sacred Heart University men’s golf team is in 11th place after the first two rounds of the Shark Invitational, according to an April 13 update from the university. The tournament is being hosted by LIU at Nassau Country Club in Glen Head, New York.

This standing comes as Sacred Heart posted scores of 295 and 296 for a combined total of 591, which puts them at +31 over par. The team trails Siena by two strokes for tenth place, while Bryant leads all teams with a score of +7. Weber State holds second place at +9.

Senior Mike Rothberg currently leads Sacred Heart’s lineup and is tied for twelfth overall. Rothberg shot an even-par round of 70 before recording a second-round score of 72, totaling a combined score of +2 over par. He made two birdies in each round.

Pablo Lacayo follows as the second-best performer for Sacred Heart, tied for forty-sixth with a score of +9 after improving his performance from the first to the second round. Jon Bushka (tied for fifty-fifth), Yu Chan Ji Lim (tied for sixty-first), and Ronan Mooney (tied for sixty-seventh) are also within one stroke of each other on the leaderboard.

The Pioneers are scheduled to conclude their participation in the Shark Invitational on Tuesday morning.
