Ryleigh Mahoney, a member of the Sacred Heart University Women’s Swimming and Diving Team, has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Week. The recognition comes after her recent performances in competitions against Fairfield, University of Bridgeport, and Holy Cross.
Mahoney secured first place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events on both days of competition. Her scores were 273.83 in the 1-meter and 315.98 in the 3-meter events. All four of her scores surpassed the NCAA qualifying zone standard, with her 3-meter results exceeding 300 points each time. Additionally, at Holy Cross, Mahoney set a new pool record in the 3-meter event.
“Ryleigh Mahoney of the Sacred Heart University Women’s Swimming and Diving Team has earned the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Week award for her performance in the team’s past meet,” according to an official statement.
