Six members of the Yale men’s swimming and diving team will participate in the NCAA Championships from March 25 to 28 at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The group includes Noah Millard, Nick Finch, Charlie Egeland, Deniel Nankov, Jake Wang, and Mak Nurkic Kacapor. The Bulldogs have qualified for five relay events: the 200, 400 and 800 freestyle relays as well as the 200 and 400 medley relays.
The event will begin on Wednesday evening with Yale competing in the 200 medley relay followed by the 800 freestyle relay. Preliminaries start each day at 10 a.m., with finals taking place at 6 p.m. All sessions are scheduled to be broadcast on ESPN+.
Millard is a three-time Ivy League champion in the 500 freestyle and qualified for this year’s championship with a pool-record time of 4:10.19. He also earned entry into the 1650 freestyle after finishing second with a time of 14:41.76 at championships. Last season, Millard received Honorable Mention All-American honors in the 500 freestyle and First Team All-American recognition in the 1650 freestyle.
Finch achieved notable results at this year’s league championships by winning gold medals in both the 50 freestyle—setting a pool and Ivy League meet record—and the 100 butterfly where he set an Ivy League record of his own. He also secured silver in the 100 freestyle. Finch previously earned Honorable Mention All-American honors last season for his performance in that event.
Yale’s relay teams had strong showings as well; their performances included setting new records while capturing gold or silver medals across several events during league competition.
The schedule for individual events throughout this week covers all major strokes and distances along with diving competitions.
