New Haven was recently mentioned in the JLL Life Sciences Industry Insight Report for the first time ever. New Haven's recognition in this national organization's report demonstrates the growing potential of the life science industry in the New Haven region and its regional talent pool. Life science establishments in Connecticut have increased 13% and created over 1,500 new jobs, since 2017. On a per capita basis, New Haven ranks 2nd in the nation in NIH funding and 5th in VC funding.
