Yale Concert Band to feature "Re(new)al" by Viet Cuong – Concerto for Solo Percussion Quartet

Yale Concert Band Fall Concert, Thomas C. Duffy, Music Director.  “Re(new)al” by Viet Cuong: concerto for solo percussion quartet feat.  compressed air, crystal glasses, “communal” drumming, and other  percussion “peculiarities” -- feat. guest artists Yale School of Music  percussionists Jessie Chiang, Sijia Huang, Makana Medeiros, and Mingyu  Son; “Mariachitlán” (Juan Pablo Contreras); “Adagio for Wind Orchestra”  (Joaquín Rodrigo). Feat. guest conductor Wayne Magee (Director of Bands,  Massachusetts Maritime Academy): “On a Hymnsong of Philip Bliss” (David  Holsinger) and “Early Light” (Carolyn Bremer). Free admission, no  tickets required. (Open to asymptomatic patrons with an up-to-date  COVID-19 vaccination status; please carry proof of vaccination and be  prepared to show it if asked. FREE. Open to asymptomatic patrons with an up-to-date vaccination status. “Up-to-date” means a person has received all recommended COVID-19 vaccines for their age range, including any booster dose(s) when eligible. Concertgoers should carry vaccination documentation and be prepared to show it if asked. Yale-approved masks (ASTM or N95 style) are required for all audience members.
