She stated: "Trump is risking lives & our national security by stealing these resources." DeLauro further questioned whether Trump and Elon Musk would adhere to legal requirements concerning court orders aimed at unfreezing funds.
Later that day, DeLauro highlighted her efforts with Representative Marcy Kaptur in releasing fact sheets that outline the effects of Trump’s funding freeze. According to her post at 18:12 UTC: "I released 7 fact sheets yesterday with @RepMarcyKaptur detailing how President Trump’s funding freeze is raising prices for Americans across the country and making us less safe."
In another tweet posted simultaneously, DeLauro emphasized the consequences of freezing funds for specific programs such as the GRIP Program. She noted: "One of the illegally frozen programs is the GRIP Program which helps states protect their power system against extreme weather." This program's fund suspension impacts nearly $2 billion intended for Connecticut's power infrastructure during adverse weather conditions.
