There were 44,590 white students enrolled in New Haven County in the 2023-24 school year, 3.6% less than the previous year, according to the Connecticut State Department of Education.

Data showed that New Haven County welcomed 116,208 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, white students comprised 38.4% of the student body to be the most represented ethnicity in the county.

Among the 230 schools in New Haven County, Amity Regional High School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2023-24 school year, with a total of 922 students.

Student enrollment has been dropping in Connecticut’s public schools for over a decade now. With the exception of a slight relief in the 2021-22 school year, schools in the state have lost more than 30,000 students since 2014.
