The Yale men’s and women’s squash teams concluded their final matches of 2025 with victories over Drexel at home in New Haven on Saturday. The women’s team secured a 6-3 win, while the men’s team edged out Drexel 5-4.
Both teams now hold an overall record of 1-1 for the season.
In the men’s competition, Tad Carney clinched the deciding match for Yale by defeating Nicolas Serna in a five-set contest that lasted nearly an hour and a half. With the score tied at four matches each, Carney’s win gave Yale the overall victory. Rohan Arya Gondi came back from two sets down to win his match against Youssef Bastawy and remains undefeated this season. Oliver Velasco earned his first collegiate victory during the meet. The Bulldogs have maintained a winning streak against Drexel that dates back to 2019.
On the women’s side, Yale recorded its third consecutive win over Drexel. Victories came from Heng Wai Wong, Spring Ma, Meha Shah, Elise Kang, Whitney Taylor, and Alyssa Ho. Both Kang and Ho celebrated their first collegiate wins.
Looking ahead, the men’s team will resume play on January 13 at MIT, while the women’s squad will start their new year at home against Princeton on January 17.
