The Yale coed sailing team finished third at the Wood Trophy, an event hosted by Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, over the weekend.

During Saturday’s races, wind conditions started from the south at 8-10 knots and increased to 12-14 knots with occasional gusts. On Sunday, winds shifted to the southeast and were lighter overall, ranging from 5-7 knots but with stronger gusts reaching up to 18 knots. The competition format included three full round robins followed by a fourth round among the top four teams.

Yale completed the event with a record of 13 wins and 8 losses. Skippers Alexander Adams, Carly Kieding, Dorothy Mendelblatt, and Morgan Pinckney sailed alongside crews Ashley Highland, Carmen Berg, Julia Miller, and Annabel Woodworth.

Looking ahead, both the coed and women’s teams are scheduled to compete next weekend in the Southern Northeast Team Race and the Women’s Southern Northeast Team Race at Connecticut College.
