Yale men’s ice hockey falls to Dartmouth for second time this season

The Yale men’s ice hockey team lost to Dartmouth 6-1 on Saturday evening at Thompson Arena in Hanover, New Hampshire. This was the second meeting between the teams this season, with Dartmouth also winning the first matchup by the same score on November 2.

Following this result, Yale’s record stands at 4-7-0 for the season. Dartmouth remains undefeated with a 10-0-0 record.

Dartmouth scored twice in the first period and added two more goals in the second period, including one on a power play. In the third period, Dartmouth extended its lead with two additional goals. Yale broke through late in the game when David Chen scored a power play goal at 17:18 of the third period.

According to game notes, Chen’s goal was his fourth of the season. Hughie Hooker registered his third assist this year, while Jack Stark recorded his first career point with a secondary assist on Chen’s goal. Hudson Miller led Yale in blocked shots with four, and Chen won eight out of thirteen faceoffs. The Bulldogs converted their only power play opportunity of the game.

Yale will next play at Merrimack on Friday, December 12 at 7 p.m.
