Senior forward Poppy Beales and sophomore midfielder Chiara Picciafuoco from the Yale Bulldogs women’s field hockey team have been recognized by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) with All-America honors. The announcement was made Tuesday, with Beales named to the second team and Picciafuoco earning a spot on the first team.

Both players contributed to a notable season for Yale, which included its first-ever appearances in both the NCAA Tournament and the Ivy League Tournament. The team secured 12 victories, matching the third-highest win total in school history.

Beales, who served as captain this year, received several accolades throughout the season. She was named to the first team All-Mideast Region and first team All-Ivy League for the third time each, selected for the NFHCA Senior Team, and chosen as a second team All-ECAC selection. She finished fourth in the Ivy League with a career-best 12 goals and ranks seventh all-time at Yale in career goals (31) and tenth in career points (65). Beales started 50 consecutive games to close out her collegiate career.

“Beales, Yale’s 2025 captain, is a graduate of Framlingham College.”

Picciafuoco has now earned All-America recognition for two consecutive years after being named to the second team last season. She is also a two-time first team All-Mideast Region and first team All-Ivy League honoree. This season, she started all 18 games and recorded two goals along with two assists.

“Picciafuoco is a graduate of Belgrano Day School.”

The list of Yale field hockey players who have received All-America honors includes Nada Sellers (1984), Cyndie Bieler (1984), Lindsay Hobbs (1998), Tovia Martirosian (2001), Harriet Thayer (2007), Bridget Condie (2019), Chiara Picciafuoco (2024), and both Poppy Beales and Chiara Picciafuoco in 2025.
