The No. 8 Yale women’s lacrosse team will play against No. 19 Princeton on Saturday, March 27, with the game set for noon and available on ESPN+, International Stream, and Live Stats.
This matchup is significant as both teams are ranked in the top 20 nationally, highlighting the competitiveness of Ivy League lacrosse this season. Yale enters the contest with an impressive record of 8-1 overall and a perfect 2-0 mark in Ivy League play.
Yale recently defeated Brown by a score of 10-8, marking its eleventh consecutive home win and sixth at home this season. Sophomore goalkeeper Niamh Pfaff recorded a career-high eleven saves during that game. The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 8 in the ILWomen poll, No. 9 in the IWLCA poll, and No. 6 in the USA Lacrosse poll.
According to recent rankings through March 26, Yale holds the best RPI among Ivy League teams at fourteen, followed by Princeton at sixteen. The Bulldogs have allowed only thirteen goals total in first quarters this season and lead the nation in scoring defense with an average of just under six goals allowed per game.
Three Yale players are featured on the Tewaaraton Award Watch List: first-year attacker Kate Gould ranks highly across several offensive categories; senior defender Emmy Pascal leads the league in caused turnovers; and goalkeeper Niamh Pfaff is first nationally for goals-against average while ranking fourth for save percentage.
In their recent series history against Princeton, Yale has won four out of five matchups including a decisive victory over Princeton last May during the Ivy League Tournament championship game.
