The Yale women’s track and field team began its indoor season with a series of meets over the weekend. Senior Claire Archer competed at Boston University’s Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, finishing the 5,000 meters in 16:19.99. This time places her fifth on Yale’s all-time list for the event.

Other members of the team took part in the Yale Season Opener at Coxe Cage, which included several local schools. The Bulldogs secured four event wins and delivered strong performances across various disciplines.

At Friday’s Penn Opener, sophomore Alyssa Anderson and first-year Layni Kaase represented Yale in the pentathlon. Kaase finished fourth while Anderson placed thirteenth.

During Saturday’s events at Coxe Cage, sophomore Zoe Martonfi won the mile with a time of 4:54.85, while junior Daniella Henderson finished third at 4:59.10. In the 400 meters, junior twins Gloria Guerrier (54.45) and Victoria Guerrier (54.79) took first and second place respectively; these times now rank them second and third all-time at Yale.

In sprints, junior Juliette Kosmont secured second place in the 60 meters with a time of 7.51 seconds, narrowly missing her own school record by .08 seconds. Junior Sophie Spokes placed fourth with a time of 7.68 seconds, making her eighth on Yale’s all-time list.

Junior Lucija Grd won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.50 seconds—just .07 away from her school record.

First-year Shreya Sathi made her debut by finishing third in pole vault (3.50m), placing seventh on Yale’s all-time list for that event. First-year Sofia Varma finished second in long jump (5.61m), earning eighth place on Yale’s all-time list; she trailed only New Haven’s D’Jior Delisser who jumped 5.78 meters.

Senior Makayla Harris won the weight throw with a mark of 17.70 meters, while sophomore Anna Siciliano (13.11m) and junior Emma Peretti (12.89m) gave Yale a two-three finish in shot put.

Yale’s relay team—composed of junior Lola Isom, sophomores Squirrel Lanz, Anjali Yella, and Elaine Hudacsko—finished second in the 4×400 meter relay with a time of 3:57.23.
