The Yale women’s sailing team was named New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association (NEISA) Sailors of the Week on March 25, following their victory at the Duplin Women’s Team Race.

The recognition comes after the Bulldogs posted a 13-3 record to secure first place at a highly competitive regatta. The event included one full round robin, a top-eight round, and a sail-off for third place. After finishing the opening round robin in a five-way tie for first, Yale achieved a perfect 7-0 record in Sunday’s top-eight round to clinch the overall win.

The team’s starters were Carly Kieding ’29, Sarah Moeder ’26, Dorothy Mendelblatt ’28, Julia Miller ’26, Elle Sykes ’27 and Ella Benedetto ’29. Clara Diaz Suarez ’28 also contributed by competing in place of Benedetto during six races in the initial round robin and three races in the top-eight round.

Yale is scheduled to compete next at the Dellenbaugh Team Race on March 28-29 in Providence, Rhode Island.
