The Yale women’s track and field team completed its participation at the Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday at The Armory in New York. The Bulldogs secured fifth place with 54 points, matching their point total from last year and tying for the program’s second-highest score since 2006.
Junior Lucija Grd made history by winning the Ivy League 60-meter hurdles championship with a time of 8.29 seconds, finishing ahead of Harvard’s Abby Dennis, who clocked in at 8.35 seconds. Grd became the first Yale woman to win this event and tied her own school record.
Another strong performance came from junior Juliette Kosmont, who finished second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.40 seconds. Penn’s Fore Abinusawa won the race in 7.25 seconds. During Saturday’s preliminaries, Kosmont broke her own school record with a time of 7.30 seconds, which now ranks third all-time at Heps among all schools. Only Abinusawa (7.22 in 2026) and Harvard’s Gabrielle Thomas (7.25 in 2018) have run faster than Kosmont at this meet.
Other notable scorers for Yale included junior Gloria Guerrier, who placed third in the 500 meters (1:12.32), and senior Charlotte Whitehurst, who took third place in the 5,000 meters (16:36.74). In relay events, Yale teams also contributed points with top-five finishes.
